When God gives you lemons, you find a new God

and

I swear I'll post something constructive soon; probably a review of Hellgate, Sins of a Solar Empire, or Audiosurf, the latter of which is an excellent and entertaining $10 on Steam.

February is Demon History Month, says Washington Post apparently

Have a look at this article quick, before they realize what the editors missed and change it. The review itself it fairly uninspiring and not exactly critical - I really enjoy the game and could come up with more criticisms than they did. Anywho, Hellgate is the reason I still haven't written my review of Sins of a Solar Empire - I want to play more before I review it, but I've been being sucked into Hellgate recently. So, maybe that'll get reviewed first.

Control the games WITH YOUR MIND!

Emotiv, a neurotech firm, just came out with a headset that can read about 30 basic emotions and also contains a motion sensor, all for about $300. While that's not exactly cheap, just think a few years down the line when they develop games to actually integrate all these features. Screw /smiling at someone. You just think it, and it happens.

It might be an awful lot of effort to go towards a gaming controller (which they're actually marketing it as, or at least planning to), but it seems like they've just finally repackaged the medical tech into something for entertainment. Plus, you don't have to shave your head or gel your scalp for this one to work.

That old-fashioned smell

So, Sins of a Solar Empire came out about a week ago and I've been merrily sinking time into it ever since - I'll give a more full review after I've played a few more games and gotten a feel for all the races, but suffice to say that it is great. Think Homeworld meets Master of Orion 2.

But the collector's edition box got here today and boy does the manual smell good. I mean, it's informative and all, but mostly it just smells like Magic cards did back in the day. I freakin' love that smell.

Also this is my 100th post on el Bloggo the Blog, so that's kinda neat.
